Yoga

- 3:05 – 4:00 pm
Students will explore fusing breath with movement as they are guided through basic yoga poses and rests. Practicing yoga can be a noncompetitive way to strengthen the body as well as to establish and deepen flexibility, balance, coordination, and concentration. It can also provide children with an understanding of and appreciation for how our minds interact with our bodies and with the world around us. This class will provide the students with a wind-down and focus at the end of their busy day. Each class will conclude with a relaxation period, following which students may eat a small snack as they share their experience from the day’s practice. Carrie is the second grade teacher at High Meadow School and has been studying and practicing yoga for 10 years.
